It all started when…

In 2013, Juan Quintero & Michelle Fierro opened up a craft cocktail bar in El paso, TX. They felt that the knowledge and education in drinking was strongly needed to be shared and promoted amongst their customers and the small yet upcoming industry in the city’s bar and restaurant scene.

They had the opportunity of traveling to places like London, Scotland, Paris, Mexico city, Guadalajara, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Chihuahua, Tijuana, and roamed around here in the US in order to learn about the drinking culture, local spirits, history and traditions, methods of production, etc. They visited the best bars, attended cocktail conventions and seminars; and started interviewing people in the service industry. They drank cocktail after cocktail and in the end, they decided to start this media and entertainment space in order to share their experiences. After almost 8 years of operating their bar The Black Orchid Lounge, they came to the difficult decision to close-up shop due to the COVID pandemic. However, that has not stopped their adventures in drinking nor their interest in knowing why and what makes people imbibe.
